Benjamin B is a media technologist, writer and media maker. He has an MS in media technology
from MIT, and he has taught at MIT and USC.
Benjamin is the author of the book "Reflections, 21 Cinematographers at Work" published by the ASC Press.

He also wrote the manual for the Panavision Genesis camera.
Benjamin is the Senior European correspondent for the American Cinematographer magazine.
He is consulting member of the AFC (association of French cinematographers), and the editor of the first 2 issues of the review "Lumieres" published by the AFC.

Michael Hammon was born on March 3, 1955, in Johannesburg, South Africa. After studying painting and photography at the Academy of Arts in Cape Town, he has been enrolled at the Academy of Film and Television in Berlin from 1985 until 1991. He worked as a cinematographer for Detlev Buck ("EineRolleDuschen", 1987) and Dietmar Klein ("Solinger Rudi", 1991), and soon began making his own movies, e.g. "The Mohale Street Brothers" (1989). For his accomplishments as the director of "Wheels and Deals" (1991), he was awarded the Grimme Prize. Furthermore, he won several awards for "Hillbrow Kids" (1999), a documentary about South African street kids. Hammon directed the movie together with Jacqueline Görgen.

As cinematographer, Hammon drew attention for his collaboration with PepeDanquart. In 1998, his work on "Nach Saison" ("Off Season", 1997), a movie about the city of Mostar after the end of the Yugoslav war, won him the German Camera Prize. Further movies include the sports documentaries "Heimspiel" (2000) and "Höllentour" ("Hell on Wheels", 2004), in which he depicted the Tour de France in spectacular images. He worked as a cameraman for Eoin Moore's movie "Conamara" (2000), and shot several films with Andreas Dresen, including "Die Polizistin" ("The Policewoman"), for which he was awarded both the German Camera Prize and the Grimme Prize in 2001. Their latest collaboration, "Willenbrock" (2005), earned him a nomination for the German Film Award 2006

Nic Knowland

Nic Knowland BSC…

Nic came into in the film industry through still photography in the early 60's. He soon became a much sought after documentary cinematographer working on many World In Action programes for Granada though the highly respected outfit Alan King Associates.
He became a founding member of Tattooist International in 1970 and during the 70's worked on programes such a Horizon for the BBC as well as becoming John and Yoko's steady cameraman making films like Rape,Bed Peace, and Imagine. In the mid 70's he co-­‐founded ICE to serve as an agent for Aaton who were introducing a new generation of Super 16 cameras which he had helped to develop.

There followed a period in which he became one of the' Promo Kings ' shooting iconic promos like Imagine for John Lennon, Vienna for UltraVox and Rio for Duran Duran, all have which been voted as Best of the Century or Best Ever at various times.

He also has worked on many Dance/Physical Theatre films, Dead Dreams of Monochrome Men and Strange Fish for DV8 etc.

He worked extensively with Director Tony Palmer through the 80's and 90's shooting many films based on composers such as Benjamin Britten, Stravinsky, Puccini , Walton etc and was Cinematographer on Testimony (Shostakovich) which opened the London Film Festival in 1985.

Nic has lensed many features including Instutute Benjamenta in B/W for the Quay Brothers which has become something of a cult film over the years, he also shoot the Piano Tuners Of Earthquakes on Digital for them.

Nic has also worked on many TV Dramas over the years including Final Passage for Director Sir Peter Hall for which he won a BAFTA for his cinematography, Emmy Award winning US mini series, The Murder of Mary Phagan for Director Billy Hale and Separate but Equal for Director George Stevens.

More recently Nic has been working on numerous Commercials, TV Drama's and several award winning projects with Director Isabel Rocamora such as Horizon of Exile and Body of War.
